Craig's sole comment:
Yawn. Too little too late. Who cares? Novell has slid to the
insignificant.
The main point I was trying to make was simply the fact that they have actually accomplished interoperability. No metadirectory needed, no synchronization, no smoke and mirrors. I love simplification.
Will it be a commercial success for Novell? Will it turn around Novell's fortunes? Will it make a difference? Frankly, I think you're right Craig. In the bigger picture it probably is too little, too late.

Hello Jackson. I was there along with Craig at BrainShare. I have to say that one of the dangers of being in the business for a long time may be a thick layer of cynicism followed by self-fulfilling prophesying. It will be up to customers to see if the simple approach by Novell works. There's also something simple and pragmatic in using what you have to open the doors you need (i.e. the Microsoft/Novell relationship) that gives things a bounce. Rumors of their demise have been premature in the past and may be premature now.
